Thank you for finding my post and wanting to know more about me! :)
This is my first blog post! Yay! I've been wanting to write on this blog for a while now and this is the first artwork that I felt the need to write something down :)
I just finished a Sea Turtle in Expressionist watercolor style and I absolutely loved how it turned out! I have been paying for some tutoring under the master watercolorist Tilen Ti so this in his style.
The reason why I wanted to write this first blog post was because I felt this art piece is a turning point in my life. I have always had a spiritual side and when I had the strong pull to devote more time on my artwork, I was wondering when or how my spiritual side and my artistic side would merge.
I had the realization that I've been doing stepping stones in my artwork to lead up to this point. I have been a landscape artist for many years. It was only a few years ago that I started to venture to doing portait art and even animal portraits and pet memorials. I then created an endangered species collection and felt more connected to these wonderful creatures.
I decided to explore my abilities with watercolor even though it has only been a few years and stretch my boundaries of expressive styles and started studying under Tilen Ti.
I completed 2 dog pet portraits with this new style and I find that there's an indescribable essence when I look at them. I decided to paint a sea turtle and when I finally completed the painting, I looked at it and felt like it had my own style and its own energy. I felt happy and healed looking at it and got the message that "wherever you are you are home". And I realized that this was a spirit animal guide!
They say that any message or words that come to you when you view an animal are messages you need to hear through God's/Universe's creation of these animals. They give us positive symbols and messages that help us with what we are presently going through. :) They are mainly messages of love, joy, perseverance, inspiration and hope. What messages do you get when you see this sea turtle?
I am hoping to create a whole collection and plan to do them in between my other art projects and submissions. If this art piece sets the tone for the rest of the collection, I can't wait to see how all this unfolds! :)
Prints of the Sea Turtle are available for sale here
Hope this blog post wasn't too long winded! I have no clue what artists should write on here and how long they should be but it is a look into my world and my mind as an artist. I hope this is first of many posts! :)
